UPDATE: Boston bombing deceased suspect Tamerlan Tsarnaev is now connected to the triple homicide back in 2011 in Boston, Massachusetts.
Ibragim Todashev was shot and killed Wednesday morning May 22,2013 after attacking a FBI agent in Florida. Ibragim was a mixed martial arts fighter with the boston bomber suspect Tamerlan Tsarnaev.
According to reports, while investigators waited for DNA reports from the triple murder, they questioned Ibragim, along with everyone else that made contact with Tamerlan. Two Massachusetts state policed and a Boston-based FBI agent questioned Ibragim in his Orlando, Florida home and during questioning, Ibragim grabbed a knife and attacked one of the officials. The attack took place after Todashev confessed to the 2011 triple homicide, where he also implicated Tamerlan Tsarnaev. Preliminary investigations revealed that the law enforcement official that shot and killed Todashev was acting in self-defense.
It’s reported that the three men, Todashev, Tsarnaev, and Mess knew each other from mixed martial arts fighting events and training.
The triple murder case went cold after all leads lead investigators to a dead-end. Attention was brought back to the case when a family member noticed Tamerlan’s face after he was idenfied in the Boston marathon attack. Family and friends say they always suspected the murderer was someone the men knew because of Mess fighting skills. Family members also told that Tamerlan was not present at the funeral of Brendan Mess even though he was a really good friend and was always hanging out with Mess.
Tamerlan was not a suspect in the triple murder back in 2011 but he was the a good friend of one of the victims, Brendan Mess. Brendan Mess, Erik Weissman, and Rapheal Teken was murdered in their Boston apartment just after ordering take-out for dinner. The three men were found dead the next day with their throats cut, 7 pounds of marijuana and $5,000 in cash. No witnesses came forward with any information about the crime and neighbors said they did not see or hear anything foul from the apartment. Investigators reported that the scene indicated at least two people committed the heinous act.
Someone that commits a crime as violent as this one, is capable of committing a terrorist attack. I would not be surprised if Tamerlan committed this crime alone.
